Nicole Dupuis

I design for people in a complex, fast-changing world.

I'm a Rhode Islander. I've spent over a decade designing for high-stakes work.

I'm obsessed with understanding people: their work and lives, hopes and motivations. I believe good products support the people using them.

When I am not researching, designing, and building, I'm painting in my basement art studio, cooking southern Italian dishes, traveling and seeing new places, and tending to my flower garden. Most weekends you will find me doing this with friends, family, and my partner, Nathan.

Convictions

Humans first

Good products support the person behind the account. I design for what someone is trying to do.

Understand the work before the interface

You can't design a good interface for a system you don't understand. I start with the people and the specialized, often messy systems they work in. The interface comes after that.

Design-first is a business strategy

Bringing design in early gets outcomes that work for the business and the people using the product.
